Why should I come to counseling?

Counseling is a sacred place to express any feelings you may have difficulty expressing.  A therapist is dedicated to helping people get to a place of emotional wellness and stability.  Therefore, by coming to therapy it is a benefit to the client which provides support, insight and new strategies for all types of life challenges. 

 

Do I really need counseling?

Working with a therapist can provide insight, support and new strategies for all types of life challenges.  Therapy can help address many types of issue including depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, stress management, sexuality and general life transitions.  Therapy is the right choice if anyone is interested in getting the most out of their life by taking responsibly, creating greater self-awareness and working towards change in their lives.

 

What are the benefits of coming to counseling? 

Therapist may provide a fresh perspective on an issue. They can give you a better understanding of their own emotions. Therapists can also teach communication skills to convey those emotions. Therapy can promote one's self-esteem, relationships, and outlook on life.

 

How does counseling really work? What do I have to do in sessions? 

Each therapy session is different.  It depends on the individual and their goals for counseling.  Each session is tailored to your specific needs. 

 

How long will a session be? 

A session can be as long as the client has reserved a specific time.  Typically, each session is 50 minutes.  However, sessions can extend to 90 minutes.

 

What are your rates?

Rates are $140-$160 per 50-minute session. (Individual Counseling)

Rates are $160 per 50-minute session. (Couples/Marriage Counseling)

Rates are $55-65 per group session.

What is it like to be in group counseling?

Group counseling is a group of individuals that are there to improve their interpersonal relationships and overall well-being.  Each session typically involves members speaking openly about their feelings and talking directly to one another about their personal problems.  Group counseling is a more laid back atmosphere and no one is forced to spill any deep secrets, etc.  Group members are encouraged to share openly and to be honest with others.  The entire goal of group counseling, is to allow members to see they are not alone in their issues, to gain emotional growth and learn healthy behaviors to develop more effective problem-solving skills. Groups normally meet once a week.

 

Do you take insurance?

We do accept insurance plans. Please contact us to see if your insurance is covered.

 

Do you have a reduced fee?

We do provide reduced fee services using a sliding scale however, they are available on a limited basis.

 

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept cash, checks and credit cards payments in office.  Payments are due after each session.
